Multiple Grammy award-winning singer/songwriter Kacey Musgraves will hit the festival circuit this summer, becoming the first-ever female country artist to play Coachella on Friday, April 12th and 19th before going on to play Governors Ball Saturday, June 1st, Bonnaroo Saturday, June 15th, and Telluride Bluegrass Festival Sunday, June 23rd. These highly-coveted festival slots follow Kacey’s sold-out North American dates on her headlining Oh, What A World: Tour, which kicked off last night in Indianapolis, with stops in major cities including New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Atlanta (see below for full list of dates).
Kacey toured extensively through 2018, touring with both Harry Styles and Little Big Town in addition to her own headlining dates. Kacey’s live shows have received rave reviews, with The Detroit Free Press proclaiming her set a “musical delight,” The Atlanta Journal-Constitution pronouncing “Musgraves is one of the keenest songwriters of her generation,” and NPR observing, "Kacey Musgraves is magnetic — there are no two ways about it. It's not just that she can sing like a bird and write like a bard. It's the calm charisma that a person who knows exactly who she is and wishes the same for others can't help but exude.”
The massive critical acclaim that Kacey’s third studio album, Golden Hour, was met with upon release shows no signs of slowing down going into 2019, earning Kacey four GRAMMY nominations for Album of the Year and Best Country Album, Best Country Solo Performance for “Butterflies,” and Best Country Song for “Space Cowboy.” Kacey will celebrate the week leading up to the 61st GRAMMY Awards with “An Evening with Kacey Musgraves,” a special benefit for the GRAMMY Museum on Tuesday, February 5th and a performance at the 2019 MusiCares Person of the Year tribute concert honoring Dolly Parton on Friday, February 8th. These honors follow Kacey’s historic Album of the Year win at the 2018 CMA Awards, with Kacey becoming the first female to win the category in four years and only the sixth female in the show’s 52-year history to do so.Golden Hour has been crowned Apple Music’s global Album of the Year, and has been named one of the best albums of 2018 by everyone from NPR, Time, Rolling Stone,Billboard, Pitchfork, Entertainment Weekly, Esquire, Complex, Consequence of Sound, Stereogum, USA Today, People, and Vulture, among others, with Noiseydeclaring “this is the sound of Kacey Musgraves mastering her art.”
