LOS ANGELES (May 29, 2025) – AXS TV celebrates 50 Years of Triumph, with special broadcasts of the acclaimed 2021 rock doc Triumph: Rock & Roll Machine—airing in honor of the band’s milestone anniversary on Saturday, June 7 at 3P ET and Monday, June 9 at 9P ET, as part of the AXS TV’s special “Absolute ‘80s Week” block.

 

The film tells the true heavy metal underdog story of Canadian outfit Triumph, whose signature sound and revolutionary stage show rocked fans around the world—skyrocketing the band to superstardom on the strength of chart-topping guitar anthems such as “Fight The Good Fight,” “Hold On,” “Magic Power,” and “Lay It On The Line.” Rock & Roll Machine shines a deserving light on band members Rik Emmett, Mike Levine, and Gil Moore, exploring the impact and influence they had on the hard rock scene throughout the ‘70s and ‘80s, and capturing their long-awaited reunion. 

 

In addition to Emmett, Levine, and Moore, Rock & Roll Machine features commentary from a slate of fellow trailblazers, who are on-hand to provide rare insight into the band’s enduring legacy. Highlights include appearances by EMMY®-winning actor and musician Kiefer Sutherland, legendary vocalist Sebastian Bach, guitar mastermind John 5, Styx singer Lawrence Gowan, comedian and metal enthusiast Brian Posehn, Bon Jovi guitarist—and former Triumph member—Phil X, and more.

 

This special presentation coincides with the release of Round Hill Records’ all-new star-studded salute Magic Power: All-Star Tribute To Triumph on Friday, June 6. The album unleashes an all-out audio assault, as the band’s famous friends, collaborators, and contemporaries come together to put their own unique spin on 15 of Triumph’s biggest hits in celebration of five decades of rock & roll magic. Highlights include appearances and performances by icons such as Slash, Nancy Wilson, Dorothy, Dee Snider, Jack Blades, Nita Strauss, Joey Belladonna, Sebastian Bach, Kenny Aronoff, Phil X, and many more, fuelling a career-spanning track list featuring “24 Hours A Day,” “Allied Forces,” “I Live For The Weekend,” and “Follow Your Heart,” among others. 'Beatles '64' revisits the magic of Beatles first visit to the U.S.

More than 60 years after they first arrived in America, the impact and influence of the Beatles continues to loom large on seemingly every aspect of popular culture not only in the U.S. but around the globe. The marvelous new 107-minute documentary "Beatles '64" that premiered on Disney+ on Nov. 29 and is available to stream now sheds light on how John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr worked their magic with a sound, style and palpable energy all their own. The riveting documentary — produced by Martin Scorsese and directed by David Tedeschi — is anchored by black and white footage shot by Albert and David Maysles over the British quartet's 14-day trip to the United States in early 1964. 

This essential film captures the moment in time when the Beatles performed in front of 73 million Americans while appearing on "The Ed Sullivan Show" in February 1964; photos and archival footage are artfully interspersed with more recent interviews with McCartney, Starr and others who were there. There are also archival clips featuring the late Lennon and Harrison that add depth to the film.

The documentary features the Beatles in New York, Washington, D.C. (the latter where they performed their first American concert), and in trains where they are traveling.

The concert footage is extraordinary, as are the insightful interview segments.

"I was very excited when they recorded 'You've Really Got a Hold On Me'," recalls soul singer Smokey Robinson. "I had no idea they were going to record its until the record (With The Beatles) came out. I was elated."

For Baby Boomers and classic rock aficionados, the film will add to their appreciation of the Beatles' enormous legacy. And for those younger viewers who have heard about the Beatles but are not completely sure about why the Fab Four continues to be a "big deal," best to just sit back, watch and enjoy the exhilarating ride. 

Or as Lennon notes in one clip looking back at the Beatles' arrival in America: "It was like being in the eye of a Hurricane." 

On Nov. 22, one week before the documentary made its debut on Disney+, an eight-LP "1964 U.S. Albums In Mono" box set was released in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the arrival of the Beatles stateside.

 “Circadian Rhythm (Last Dance)” features a duet between lead singer Brian Aubert and bassist Nikki Monninger. Lead vocalist Brian Aubert explains, “I wrote the music for this song but Nikki wrote the lyrics to it. It’s really an homage to a friend of hers that passed away recently. I think it’s the first time Nikki wrote most of the lyrics. We knew we were going to do this duet together and I really knew she had something going on that needed to come out and I’m happy this was the vessel for it.”

The band’s critically acclaimed album, Better Nature, is available now via the band’s newly formed label New Machine Recordings. Under The Radar calls the album “...as propulsive and arena-ready as ever” while the LA Times says it “has a clarity and inventiveness that’s rare for a big band a decade into its career.”

Better Nature is Silversun Pickups’ first new album in more than three years and was produced by Jacknife Lee (U2, Two Door Cinema Club, Crystal Castles), with whom they collaborated on 2012’sNeck Of The Woods. The album was mixed by Grammy award-winning engineer Alan Moulder (My Bloody Valentine, Nine Inch Nails, Royal Blood).

In August, the band released the first single “Nightlight,” which was accompanied by a hallucinatory music film written and directed by legendary filmmaker Mark Pellington (Arlington Road, The Mothman Prophecies, Foo Fighters, Bruce Springsteen, Pearl Jam). “Nightlight,” which Absolute Punk called “one of the most deliriously catchy and undeniably immediate songs Silversun has made in their careers,” reached Top 5 on the Billboard and Alternative Radio Charts.
