Tuesday morning roundup: Johnny Winter, Jimi Jamison, Top '90s songs

Good morning! I hope everybody had a fantastic holiday weekend. Here is the latest…

USA Today has a story you can read here about Johnny Winter's posthumous album, which arrives today. Winter, who passed away on July 16, 2014, was known for his recordings and live fiery performances in the 1960s and '70s, as well as his celebrated production of a trio of albums for the late great bluesman Muddy Waters.

Sadly, Survivor singer Jimi Jamison passed away over the weekend. He was only 63. Read more here.

Spin lists its top 100 alternative songs of 1994. I'm glad to see some of the decade's most talented artists are represented, although I would have placed Toad the Wet Sprocket's "Something's Always Wrong" and was perplexed by many songs I saw missing from the list (notably Aimee Mann's "Save Me"). See it for yourself here.
