Multi-Award Winning Musician Peter Gabriel to Score “Words With Gods” – the First Installment of the Heartbeat of the World Anthology Film Series

Mario Vargas Llosa, Recipient of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature, to curate the order of the nine shorts comprising “Words With Gods”
LOS ANGELES, CA – Award-winning musician Peter Gabriel has signed on to score “Words with Gods”-- the first installment in the groundbreaking Heartbeat of the World anthology film series.  The nine fiction shorts that make up “Words With Gods” will be curated by Mario Vargas Llosa, recipient of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Literature.  Produced by Oscar nominee and acclaimed writer, director and producer Guillermo Arriaga, along with BN Films' Alex Garcia (Elite Squad, The Burning Plain, The House of My Father) and Lucas Akoskin (The Doorman, The Second Bakery Attack), Heartbeat of the World will include four feature-length socially minded anthologies, each consisting of several short films by some of the world’s most exciting directors.  Each of the four anthologies will explore one of the following global topics: religion, sexuality, politics, and drug addiction.
“Words With Gods” follows the theme of religion - specifically delving into an individual's relationship with his/her god, gods, or the lack thereof - and features nine shorts directed by renowned filmmakers, such as Australia’s Warwick Thorton; Brazil’s Hector Babenco; India’s Mira Nair; Japan’s Hideo Nakata; Israel’s Amos Gitai; Spain’s Alex de la Iglesia; Serbia’s Emir Kusturica; Turkey’s Bahman Ghobadi; and Mexico’s Guillermo Arriaga. Each short was shot in the home country of its filmmakers.
The cast of “Words With Gods” includes Chico Diaz, Demian Bichir, Emir Kusturica, Ram Kapoor, Tanuja,Yaël Abecassis, Pepon Nieto, Juan Fernandez, Miranda Tapsell,Yilmaz Erdogan, Emilio Echeverria, Masatoshi Nagaseand, and many more.
BN Films is an international production company based in Santa Monica, CA and Mexico City.  The company was launched by Garcia and Akoskin in December 2012 and offers a slate of films in all languages, aimed at both the domestic U.S. and international markets.  BN recently completed filming The Jesuit, written by Paul Schrader (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Auto Focus), with a cast that includes Tim Roth (Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, Arbitrage) and Brian Cox (Bourne Supremacy, Zodiac, Rushmore).  The company is in production on director Emir Kusturica's feature Love and War and in pre-production on La Mujer Infinita, written and directed by Argentinian filmmaker Lucia Puenzo (XXY, Wakolda).  In addition, BN has over fifteen feature and television projects currently in various stages of development.
