With my crazy schedule including the coverage of both Coachella and Stagecoach this month, I am way behind in my daily dose of posting. Here are some important releases that have landed in my inbox this week that relate to things happening outside of the chaos of Coachella...
Six years ago, Michael Ubaldini, one of Southern California's premier independent singer-songwriters, released Lost American Nights: Lyrics & Poems, a selection of his poems, song lyrics and photographs. Since then, Ubaldini has recorded half a dozen more albums, won Orange County Music Awards and recorded at the legendary Sun Studio in Memphis — and accumulated so much material that we had no choice but to put out a second edition of his book.
The new, revamped Lost American Nights will launch this Wednesday (April 18, 2012) at Two Idiots Peddling Poetry at the Ugly Mug, located around the block from Chapman University in Orange. The show starts at 8 p.m. and admission is $3.

Country artist Shooter Jennings will release his highly anticipated fifth studio album, Family Man, April 17 through One Entertainment Group. The acclaimed country star has also announced additional tour dates throughout April in support of the new album. The tour, which he will co-headline with Cody Canada & The Departed, features special guest Uncle Lucius and kicks off on March 19th in Austin, TX and includes a show here in Orange County, CA at the Coach House on May 10 (full routing below).
Jennings premiered the video for the first single off of FAMILY MAN, “The Deed and the Dollar,” on CMT where it instantly became the #1 viewed video on the country channel.
