DEEP PURPLE TOTAL ABANDON: AUSTRALIA ‘99

Classic Live From Australia CD Gets Released On April 24

Eagle Rock Entertainment is set to release—for the first time in the U.S.—Deep Purple’s Total Abandon: Australia ‘99 on CD April 24.

Recorded April 20, 1999 at Melbourne Park, the 12-song 76-minute blockbuster, until now, was only available domestically as a DVD in the 2008 Around The World Live boxed set (also released by Eagle Rock Entertainment). Total Abandon is a major boon for Deep Purple fans as it musically traverses decades with material mostly from the ‘70s and the ‘90s. Lead guitarist Steve Morse, at this point in the band’s glorious career, had fully integrated himself into the mix, positively shining on songs from both eras.

The lineup of vocalist Ian Gillan, bassist Roger Glover, keyboardist Jon Lord, drummer Ian Paice and guitarist Morse are in rare form: the almost nine-minute-each jam-happy versions of “Pictures of Home” and “Smoke On The Water” are just two highlights of many. Besides favorites like “Black Night” “Smoke On The Water” and “Highway Star” the band reached into its enormous catalog for an incredibly satisfying evening that included opener “Ted The Mechanic” and “Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming” both off guitarist Morse’s album debut with the band, Purpendicular, in 1996.

Touring in support of 1998’s Abandon album, the “A Band On World Tour” had Deep Purple criss-crossing the globe like the true road warriors they remain today.

Track Listing:
1) Ted The Mechanic
2) Strange Kind Of Woman
3) Bloodsucker
4) Pictures of Home
5) Almost Human
6) Woman From Tokyo
7) Watching The Sky
8) Fireball
9) Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming
10) Smoke On The Water
11) Black Night
12) Highway Star

ALTER BRIDGE TO RELEASE HIGHLY ANTICIPATED SECOND LIVE CD & DVD LIVE AT WEMBLEY

BIGGEST SHOW OF POWER ROCKERS’ CAREER CAPTURED IN HIGH DEFINITION DURING SOLD OUT 2011 EUROPEAN TOUR

First Live Concert DVD & CD from The Dude Films, due March 26, 2012

Fans of power rockers ALTER BRIDGE rushed to “beat the street” online this week and make LIVE AT WEMBLEY, the band’s second live CD/DVD – and the first live concert DVD from The Dude Films – hit #2 in the Top 100 on the Blu Ray Music Videos & Concerts chart at Amazon.com, just beneath Adele. For the seventh day in a row, LIVE AT WEMBLEY, with a street date of March 26, 2012, has been in the Top 10 of Amazon Bestsellers in the Blu Ray Music Videos & Concerts chart, ahead of video offerings from other music giants in the Top 10 such as Iron Maiden, Whitney Houston and Tony Bennett. The title has consistently picked up sales and momentum since it was initially posted on Amazon over a week ago, showing the incredibly true loyalty and love of Alter Bridge fans.

The band’s previous live CD/DVD, LIVE FROM AMSTERDAM (2009), broke records at Amazon, rising 15,000 spots in one day to capture the #1 position. The package was very well received and garnered 4- and 5-star reviews across the board.

LIVE AT WEMBLEY, distributed in North America through EMI Label Services, includes every key Alter Bridge track from their three studio albums, including “Isolation,” “Ghosts Of Days Gone By,” “Wonderful Life,” “Watch Over You,” “Broken Wings,” “Rise Today,” “Open Your Eyes” and many more, and was captured in late November during the Fall 2011 European tour at the historic Wembley Arena.

“When the tour was booked, we saw that there were a few arenas, Wembley being one of them,” says lead guitar player Mark Tremonti. “We were excited and nervous, wondering if the tickets would sell. They did, and we were blown away. The first four or five songs of any set are usually pretty nerve-wracking. Those are the tunes where we're finding our footing and trying to get comfortable. But Wembley was different. Even with all of the cameras and the fact that we were filming and we couldn't make any mistakes, it was fun right from the start.”

Directed by long time Alter Bridge Director Daniel E. Catullo III (Rush, Nickelback, Smashing Pumpkins, Godsmack) and produced by Catullo and Lionel Pasamonte, the 16-camera, state-of-the-art high definition shoot was filmed in front of a fanatical audience of more than 10,000 English fans as the band gave the performance of a lifetime, captured in pristine audio visual perfection, in 5.1 DTS Surround Sound, at Wembley Arena in London. The Deluxe Edition of the DVD is set to include a second bonus disc of content shot specifically for this release, plus a 60-minute documentary called “The Road To Wembley” and photo gallery, and 16-page souvenir booklet.

In addition to the main HD shoot, the show was shot in 3D using 3Ality Technica technology and cameras. The 3D version will be released in late 2012 as a separate 3D film/3D Blu Ray package by 3Dimensions, Inc. The 3D production was produced by Catullo and Pasamonte, along with Ted Kenney, Producer/ Director of such iconic 3D Concert Films as U23D, Kenney Chesney: Summer in 3D, Black Eyed Peas in 3D and Britney Spears in 3D.

Every Mother Counts 2012 will be available in participating Starbucks company-operated stores in the U.S. and Canada from May 1, 2012 through May 29, in honor of mothers everywhere during the month of May, and will be available while supplies last. Eight dollars from the sale of each CD from participating Starbucks stores will be given in support of Every Mother Counts, through its fiscal sponsor, the New Venture Fund.

“We’re thrilled to announce the release of Every Mother Counts 2012,” said Christy Turlington Burns, founder, Every Mother Counts. “The CD is a moving tribute to mothers everywhere, and it has been a dream to see such a strong show of support for this issue from Starbucks and this remarkable group of artists who so generously contributed to Every Mother Counts 2012.”

Our thanks goes to the artists for the inspiring and personal songs they chose to share. Starbucks is proud to offer ‘Every Mother Counts 2012’ to customers in our stores around the U.S. and Canada.”

Every Mother Counts’ first CD was released by Starbucks from April 12 – May 9, 2011, as an exclusive companion CD inspired by No Woman No Cry, Turlington Burns directorial debut, which chronicled the global plight of pregnant women lacking access to timely and critical care. The album peaked at #54 on Billboard’s Top 200 chart, #12 on the Rock Albums chart and #7 on the Independent Albums chart. Starbucks donated $8 (USD) from the sale of each CD from participating Starbucks stores to CARE for its maternal health programs in coffee growing countries and to help support maternal health relief efforts by Every Mother Counts.

Founded by Turlington Burns, Every Mother Counts is an advocacy and mobilization campaign to increase education and support for maternal mortality reduction globally. Every Mother Counts seeks to engage new audiences to better understand the challenges and the solutions while encouraging them to take action to improve the lives of girls and women worldwide.
