On June 2, 2015, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release Jeff Beck’s Performing This Week…Live At Ronnie Scott’s – Special Edition on 2CD and Digital Audio. A 3LP Edition will be released shortly thereafter.

 

Now released for the first time with the full audio from these incredible shows, Performing This Week… features classic tracks from across Jeff Beck’s career including: “Beck’s Bolero,” “Led Boots,” “Scatterbrain,” “Where Were You,” “Angels (Footsteps),” “Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers,” and his now iconic version of “A Day In The Life.” This amazing show includes guest appearances by Joss Stone, Eric Clapton and Imogen Heap, in addition to a 7-track set with the Big Town Playboys.

 

This 2007 series of concerts at the renowned Ronnie Scott’s club in London became a must-have ticket of the year, with a packed audience every night consisting of the famous and the fans. The CD and DVD releases of these shows (released via Eagle Rock Entertainment in 2008, 2009 respectively) have become the definitive Jeff Beck live recordings. Striking Matches' Justin Davis and Sarah Zimmermann

Striking Matches has officially taken the UK by storm, landing at No. 1 on the iTunes UK Country Albums Chart with their debut release, Nothing But The Silence. Produced by the legendary T Bone Burnett, the album showcases this dynamic duo (comprised of Sarah Zimmermann and Justin Davis), brimming with harmonies and plenty of guitars.
 

“Their debut album is an engaging blend of slick country storytelling scuffed up with rockier riffs. Imagine a noisier version of The Civil Wars: squaring up and trading electric licks before coiling their voices together in sweet harmony,” beamed The Telegraph UK.

While the guitar-driven duo has been steadily building their fan base here in the U.S., it was to their great surprise to be greeted by concert goers singing the words to their songs at their very first overseas show in London – before ever releasing a song in the country. Neon Trees today announced their next tour "An Intimate Night Out With Neon Trees" will kick off June 6 in Seattle, WA at the Showbox and cross the country before winding down on July 25 in Boston, MA at Paradise Rock Club.  A full list of tour dates can be found below.

"At the end of last year we had made plans to take this year off, but honestly we got bored at home. We just love touring that much," said front man Tyler Glenn.  "We're going to play songs from all three albums and it will be an entirely new show.   We chose smaller clubs and theaters to make it a communal, fan driven experience for us and the audience."

Neon Trees - comprising Tyler Glenn (lead vocals, keys), Chris Allen (guitars), Branden Campbell (bass), and Elaine Bradley (drums, vocals) - released their third album Pop Psychology on April 22, 2014.   The album, recorded in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, Los Angeles, CA, and their hometown of Provo, UT with longtime collaborator Tim Pagnotta spawned the RIAA Gold-certified single "Sleeping With A Friend," which won an award for BMI Publishing Award in 2014 and charted in the Top 15 of the Billboard Hot 100.  It is available HERE. 

Pop Psychology is the follow up to Picture Show, which featured the RIAA double platinum single "Everybody Talks," which charted in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. Neon Trees' debut album, Habits, was released in 2010 and featured the double platinum smash single "Animal." Mike Peters thrills audience at The Coach House

Mike Peters celebrated his legacy at The Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, CA on Thursday, March 26, 2015, in a two-hour concert that defied the solo, acoustic setting with performances of Alarm anthems that yielded a number of sing- and shout-along moments, clapping accompaniment and cheers all the way around.

While the Rhyl, Wales-spawned singer-songwriter didn't take the stage until 10 p.m., the near-capacity crowd was ready to celebrate from the moment he opened with "The Stand." His powerful and fully-intact vocals conveyed the power of his uplifting lyrics and - as he would prove over and over - his rhythm guitar work was sweeping enough to propel the rockers even if the setting put the focus more on Peters' lyrics and compelling storytelling.

"Howling Wind" came next, with Peters working his acoustic guitar and blasting out harmonica. He utilized backing firepower even more dramatically a few songs later during "Absolute Reality" where he played guitar and used a foot pedal to pound out a beat on a drum while he sang.

On "Knife's Edge," some seamless technology was incorporated into his approach with some backing drum track melded into the song as he sang. While the audience clearly loved the powerful Alarm classics, Peters' nuanced set included several introspective (and clearly acoustic) tracks too. The wonderful "Dawn Chorus" that finds its emotional core in a man's lone walk through "lonely streets," and "Father to Son" with its inspired look at Peters' relationship with his father tapped into some of the artist's oft-overlooked material.

Peters closed with some of his most beloved Alarm tracks. An extended take on "Spirit of '76" provided the perfect chance for Peters to demonstrate the mastery of an arrangement; while he sang most of the song to the accompaniment of his guitar, he walked over and played the sparse spoken-word bridge as he played melodic keyboards. He closed out his 18-song set with the forceful "Where Were You Hiding When the Storm Broke" (blasting his harmonica like Bob Dylan on steroids) and a joyous "Blaze of Glory." 

It speaks volumes that on a night when Peters didn't play "Sold Me Down the River" and "Rain in the Summertime" that few in the audience seemed to care. Peter's pacing as he combined well-known songs, rarities and intimate stories of life growing up made for a magical night.

UDR Music Announces TOMMY BOLIN “TEASER” 40^th Anniversary Vinyl Edition Box Set – Out May 19, 2015 in North America

Tommy Bolin – recognized for his work with groups such as Zephyr, The James Gang, and Deep Purple – was a bright, young American guitar god who created a whirlwind with his loud, stylish, free-form fusion performances before his untimely death at the age of 25 in 1976. Released in 1975 during his time with Deep Purple, Teaser was the solo masterpiece and eventual cult-classic that Bolin never got the chance to properly promote.

Now, 40 years after the album was originally released and unfortunately buried with time, Teaser is finally getting its time to shine.

On May 19, 2015, UDR Music will release the official TEASER 40th Anniversary Vinyl Edition Box Set, a three-album deluxe vinyl box-set supplemented with two live CDs, celebrating the 40^th anniversary of this legendary release. Featuring long-lost outtakes and alternative mixes from the original Teaser studio sessions, plus two live CDs comprising performances from Ebbets Field, The Northern Lights, My Father’s Place and Albany, the TEASER 40th Anniversary Vinyl Edition Box Set is set to satiate the appetites of Bolin fans worldwide.

Bolin was a shooting star, a fiercely bright, ferociously driven and a guitarist whose soul spoke through his fingers and fretboard. Bolin was an American axeman of the caliber rarely seen or heard before (or since) his untimely death at the age of 25 on December 4^th 1976. Bolin allowed the power of funk and the fury of rock to find such finite expression through his inspiration. His expression never sounded more fluent than on his 1975 solo album debut Teaser. The album embraced a tour de force of styles from jazz to hard rock to Latin music, all of which were expressed in a glorious musical stew.

At the age of 17, Bolin formed Zephyr, whose blues rock was coated in psychedelic tendencies. Despite opening for the likes of Led Zeppelin and growing a strong fan-base, Bolin left the group in 1971 to form Energy (a jazz-rock project) before Joe Walsh recommended him to The James Gang, where he recorded the Bang! and Miami albums in 1973 and ’74 respectively. Bolin also appeared on legendary drummer Billy Cobham’s Spectrum solo album, and his ability to enjoy (and make the grade with!) such improvisational jamming style sounds left Bolin as that rare bird. A man who could be a rock star or a man who could be a musician’s musician at cafes across America.

Bolin moved to LA seeking confirmation of the stardom his enormous talents promised, and the foundations for the legendary Teaser album were laid. Featuring session musicians such as Glenn Hughes, David Sanborn, Jan Hammer, Stanley Sheldon and Phil Collins, Teaser represents the fulcrum point of Tommy’s solo-artist work. As he completed work on it, Deep Purple’s Ritchie Blackmore quit the band, and Bolin was invited to join Purple by singer David Coverdale. Come Taste The Band came out towards the end of 1975, before Purple disbanded and left Bolin free to do his second album Private Eyes. Opening for Peter Frampton and Jeff Beck, Bolin was just starting to enjoy the sort of attention and recognition that would surly have seen him rise to the next level of revered guitar God. Sadly, Bolin’s addiction issues would not allow it, and in 1976, he died at the young age of 25.

Do LaB Coachella Stage Announces Lineup and Exciting Changes in 2015!

Since 2004, Los Angeles-based music and event production house, Do LaB,have been constructing an interactive stage inside the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival being held April 10-12 and April 17-19, 2015 in the Southern California desert. The Do LaB stage and its surrounding area - complete with creative lighting structures, shade and misters - has become known and loved by festivalgoers as the oasis of Coachella. This year, the Do LaB stage has been reimagined with an all-new design in a new location, plus a unique, previously unannounced lineup curated by the folks at Do LaB.

The Do LaB stage, unlike the festival’s other five stages, will change its lineup each weekend. Musicians will come from afar - Berlin, France, Australia, England, and Spain - to play this memorable stage. In 2015, the Do LaB stage moves to a new location within the Terrace next to a new entrance, directly across from the Sahara tent, providing direct access from the Saharaa major win for electronic music fans.

Previously, Do LaB has been inspired by nature and exotic plants when building their immersive environment for the festival. This year, the inspiration comes from endangered whales. The stage and its encompassing area serves as a mini-oasis with much-needed shade and misters to cool off the Coachella crowds during the hottest parts of the weekend.

The upcoming trek will see Death Cab for Cutie's core membership of singer/guitarist Ben Gibbard, bassist Nick Harmer, and drummer Jason McGerr augmented by new touring members Dave Depper (Menomena, Fruit Bats, Corin Tucker, Ray Lamontagne) and Zac Rae (My Brightest Diamond, Fiona Apple, Lana Del Rey, Gnarls Barkley), both of whom will contribute additional guitars and keyboards. The band began 2015 by playing intimate dates in Brooklyn and Seattle -- their first shows since the departure of founding member Chris Walla. "The onstage chemistry between (the) original members... and the new players was surprisingly heartfelt," raved Seattle Weekly. "The vibe felt as if they had been jamming together for years, and it showed in how beautifully they riffed off of each other during the set's numerous instrumental solos."

Recorded in Los Angeles with Rich Costey (Foster the People, Muse, Vampire Weekend, Chvrches) behind the board, "KINTSUGI" takes its title from the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum, highlighting cracks rather than hiding them. As such, KINTSUGI represents a compassionate aesthetic philosophy in which damage and wear are embraced as part of an object's history.

"Considering what we were going through internally, and with what a lot of the lyrics are about, it had a great deal of resonance for us -- the idea of figuring out how to repair breaks and make them a thing of beauty," says bassist Nick Harmer, who suggested the name to Gibbard and McGerr. "Philosophically, spiritually, emotionally, it seems perfect for this group of songs."

For nearly two decades, Death Cab for Cutie has been hailed as one of contemporary music's most compelling and creative collectives. Born in Bellingham, Washington in 1997, the band followed a long relationship with the Seattle-based independent label, Barsuk, by making their Atlantic Records debut with their fifth studio release, 2005's "PLANS." The album proved Death Cab for Cutie's popular breakthrough, earning RIAA platinum certification as well as spawning the chart-topping singles, "Soul Meets Body" and "I Will Follow You Into The Dark." The latter track was honored with a GRAMMY® nomination as "Best Pop Performance By Duo Or Group With Vocals," with "PLANS" receiving the nod as "Best Alternative Album." "DIRECTIONS," the 2006 DVD companion to "PLANS," earned an additional GRAMMY® nod as "Best Longform Music Video."

Now fully affirmed as an era-defining band, Death Cab for Cutie made a stunning #1 debut atop the SoundScan/Billboard 200 with 2008's RIAA gold certified NARROW STAIRS. More critical acclaim and two further GRAMMY® nominations followed, including nods for "Best Alternative Album" and "Best Rock Song" (honoring the hit single, "I Will Possess Your Heart"). "THE OPEN DOOR" EP was released in 2009, earning DCfC a third consecutive GRAMMY® Award nomination for "Best Alternative Album." "CODES AND KEYS" arrived in 2011 and made a top 3 entry on the SoundScan/Billboard 200 before receiving the band's fourth straight GRAMMY® nomination for "Best Alternative Music Album." "You Are A Tourist," the album's first single, also proved a multi-format radio smash, reaching #1 at both Triple A and Modern Rock outlets nationwide -- Death Cab for Cutie's first-ever #1 at the latter format.
