Jason Scott & The High Heat commit “Highway Robbery” on raucous new single |
Listen to “Highway Robbery” HERE Playing CMA Fest, Bourbon & Beyond, Born & Raised, The Long Road festivals and more this summer |
May 8, 2026 - Jason Scott & The High Heat come swaggering back with their new single “Highway Robbery,” out today via Leo33. Over an insistent beat, barrelhouse piano and classic twangy guitar, Scott and the band showcase how their sound is the perfect encapsulation of a little bit country and a little bit rock & roll. Actually, a lot of rock & roll. |
The new song comes as the band prepares for a busy Summer. They’ll play CMA Fest next month in Nashville before heading out on a run opening for Morgan Wallen on his “Still The Problem Tour.” Scott & The High Heat will then play a slew of festivals this Summer, including Bourbon & Beyond, Born & Raised, Peacemaker, FloydFest and The Long Road among others. |
“I've been driving or in the back of the van for the last 10 years touring the country,” says Scott. “Sometimes it’s fun to steal a little something to add a little thrill of going down the road.” |
Born and bred in Oklahoma City, Jason Scott & The High Heat have been blazing their own trail since their debut album, Castle Rock, lit up critics at NPR, The Boot, BBC Radio, and beyond. With a sound that fuses blue-eyed soul, heartland rock muscle, and country grit, they don’t just blur genre lines—they stomp right over them. |
On stage, the band is pure wildfire - raw, unfiltered, and impossible to ignore, lighting up festivals like Stagecoach, Born & Raised, and Mile 0 Fest and opening for acts such as Wyatt Flores and 49 Winchester. Their 2025 album American Grin turned the heat up even further, marrying groove and grit with sharp, lived-in storytelling. As Rolling Stone puts it, the Oklahoma band are “taking an honest, and often humorous, look at a U.S. existence,” while Holler calls American Grin “a masterpiece not only in sound but in substance… a roadmap for this weird and wonderful ride of existence.” |
