Coldplay's 'Ghost Stories Live 2014' is out today

Anyone who saw the Coldplay special when it was broadcast earlier this year on NBC will be excited to get today's release of the special on DVD/CD today. Here is the official media release...

Coldplay's 'Ghost Stories Live 2014' is out today

Concert film and live album available in DVD/CD and digital formats

Ghost Stories Live 2014, Coldplay's new concert film and live album, is available now at music retailers everywhere. Filmed by GRAMMY-nominated director Paul Dugdale, the Ghost Stories Live 2014 film documents the band's unique performance of its latest No. 1 album, Ghost Stories, to a small group of fans in March 2014, two months prior to the album's release. Shot in a custom-built amphitheatre at Sony Studios, Los Angeles, the groundbreaking production sets Coldplay's performance against stunning 360-degree and overhead imagery. It is the band's first DVD release since the GRAMMY-nominated Live 2014 concert film.

Parts of the performance were first broadcast in May 2014 as a Coldply TV special by major broadcasters around the world, including NBC in the US and Sky Arts in the UK, where the film has already been nominated for Best Live Coverage at this year's UK Music Video Awards. But Ghost Stories Live 2014 is the first time that the performance has been sequenced as originally conceived: a visual representation of the Ghost Stories album.

The package also contains an exclusive Ghost Stories live album, as well as eight music videos from the Ghost Stories era. In addition, there is an exclusive Extended Director's cut of the "Magic" video, which features a new cameo by Peter Fonda.

'Kansas - Miracles Out of Nowhere' coming via DVD/CD set in March 2015

I am very excited to see one of America's greatest prog rock outfits celebrated courtesy of an in-depth documentary film...

Epic Records/Legacy Recordings Set To Release
KANSAS
Miracles Out of Nowhere
A New Full Length Documentary Revealing the Untold Story of the
Great American Progressive Rock Band

DVD/CD Package Coming March 2015

Epic Records and Legacy Recordings, the catalog division of Sony Music Entertainment, will release KANSAS - Miracles Out of Nowhere, a DVD/CD package celebrating one of the most popular American bands of the 1970s. The package includes a new, full-length, documentary film and a companion audio disc of greatest hits, deep album cuts, and more, in March 2015.

Epic/Legacy will also release a deluxe limited edition CD/DVD set, available exclusively through KANSAS.  This edition includes an additional DVD of bonus features and outtakes not included in the documentary and not available in stores, along with the 78-minute documentary DVD and specially crafted companion CD.  The unique CD, curated by longtime KANSAS producer Jeff Glixman and KANSAS drummer Phil Ehart, features hits and deep cuts alongside audio extracts from the film.

KANSAS - Miracles Out of Nowhere deluxe limited edition CD/DVD set is available now for pre-order. Please visit http://bit.ly/1vlrphH for more information. The standard version will be available for pre-order on Amazon on December 26th.

2014 marked the 40th anniversary of the release of KANSAS, the band's debut album. To commemorate the occasion, the classic KANSAS lineup reunited, for the first time in more than 30 years; at the place their incredible journey began, Topeka, Kansas! There, they relived the incredible untold story of one of the most successful American rock bands of their era. Returning to monumental career landmarks in their hometown, as well as sharing untold memories ranging from touring to songwriting and recording, the band shares how the smash hit "Dust in the Wind" was just a passing comment away from never being recorded! Viewers will hear the band tell stories about recording in the studio next to John Lennon, a backstage fight with Aerosmith's Steven Tyler, and how the words "free beer" changed their lives forever! Miracles Out of Nowherepresents KANSAS in a way they have never before been seen.

View the KANSAS - Miracles Out of Nowhere trailer here: http://bit.ly/11p29tC

Directed by Emmy-nominated Charley Randazzo, the documentary features interviews from legendary Queen guitarist and former tourmate Brian May, acclaimed producer Brendan O'Brien, Rolling Stone journalist David Wild, and more. Featured prominently is country icon Garth Brooks, who counts KANSAS, alongside The Beatles and the Eagles, as one of his greatest inspirations. These extraordinary new insights are coupled with rare and unseen footage, including live performances and candid, fan-shot footage of the band on the road. Miracles Out of Nowhere offers an unprecedented look at the incredible ascent of KANSAS, a story that will appeal to new fans and veteran enthusiasts alike.

From the beginning, KANSAS was fascinating in its unconventional approach to rock stardom.  The sextet, composed of drummer Phil Ehart, bassist Dave Hope, keyboardist/guitarist Kerry Livgren, violinist/vocalist Robby Steinhardt, vocalist/keyboardist Steve Walsh, and guitarist Richard Williams were unlikely candidates for mainstream success in every way.  After an improbable pairing with rock impresario Don Kirshner, the man behind the Monkees who signed and financed KANSAS on his Kirshner label, their relentless drive to succeed eventually resulted ininstantly recognizable iconic hits like "Carry On Wayward Son," "Dust in the Wind," and "Point of Know Return."

KANSAS has released eight gold albums, three 6x platinum albums (LeftoverturePoint of Know ReturnThe Best of KANSAS), one platinum live album (Two for the Show) and the million-selling single "Dust in the Wind." Albums and singles by KANSAS could be found on the Billboard charts for more than 200 weeks during the 1970s and 1980s. "Dust in the Wind" and "Carry On My Wayward Son" can still be heard on today's radio.

Audio Fidelity To Release Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert on 180gm Vinyl LP & "Time Pieces" on Limited Edition Hybrid SACD

Adding to the series of Eric Clapton reissues, Marshall Blonstein's Audio Fidelity will be releasing Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert on 180gm limited edition Vinyl LP & Time Pieces on Limited Edition Hybrid SACD.

"Eric Clapton's Rainbow Concert"

Alive and Kickin' Clapton Makes a Comeback!

Other than one appearance in August 1971 at George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh, Eric Clapton had not been heard from until Pete Townshend coaxed him to headline a concert appearance. The show was scheduled for January 13, 1973 at London's Rainbow Theatre. An all-star band was assembled for the show and in addition to Townshend the other English rock luminaries included Clapton's old Blind Faith pals, Steve Winwood and Rick Grech, Winwood's Traffic mate Jim Capaldi, Ron Wood, Jimmy Karstein and Rebop Kwaku Baah. It was an ensemble effort but the show demonstrated that the reclusive Clapton, nursing a heroin addiction, could still play, and that was welcome news.

If the classic Derek and the Dominos' "In Concert" album shows Clapton on the upswing, then "Rainbow Concert" explores the lower reaches of his psyche. The Rainbow performance was his attempt at starting all over again and coming out of isolation to return to his music. Upon listening to Rainbow Concert it becomes clear just how much the concert helped to re-energize him. The concert at London's Rainbow Theatre stands as the beginning of Eric Clapton's return to the stage.

"Rainbow Concert" is a recording of monolithic melancholy, the music is rich in its make-up and sad in tone. Townshend's and Wood's guitars and Winwood's organ surround Clapton in a protective aural capsule, but he cuts loose as much as his setting allows in "Badge," and he's solid for most of the show.  The album's excitement comes from the layered instrumental textures, the solemn measured movement into climaxes that are majestic if not explosive, and the nuances of Clapton's restrained playing and singing in a suitably course and bluesy voice.

In addition to "Badge," written by Clapton and George Harrison and covers such as J.J. Cale's "After Midnight" and a very soulful rendition of Jimi Hendrix's "Little Wing," Steve Winwood steps back as lead vocalist in Eric Clapton's favor for Blind Faith's "Presence of the Lord" and Traffic's "Pearly Queen."

A historic live appearance...all gritty rock n' roll and smouldering blues
