To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Deana Carter's 5X platinum debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This?, Carter announced on The Bobby Bones Show that Capitol Nashville/UMe will release Did I Shave My Legs For This? 25th Anniversary Edition on November 5, but it isn't just Carter doing the singing this time around. The project includes two new tracks with Carter performing and producing 2021 versions of the CMA award-winning, and 2X platinum hit single "Strawberry Wine," featuring  Lauren Alaina, Martina McBride, Ashley McBryde, Kylie Morgan, andVince Gill on guitar, as well as the title track, featuring Terri Clark, Sara Evans, Ashley McBryde, and Vince Gill.

The 25th anniversary editions of the album have been remastered from the original recordings and will be released on CD with two bonus tracks, as well as a Digital Deluxe with an additional ten songs, seven of which will be available digitally for the first time. Pre-order/Pre-save HERE

"I am beyond blown away to see the generational connection between my first single, 'Strawberry Wine' and all the fans, young and seasoned," award-winning country singer-songwriter Carter shares. "Being a part of a song that has become an anthem for the '90s and beyond is such a blessing and more than I could've ever dreamed of. The fans have been the catalyst for the success of 'Strawberry Wine' and the whole Shavealbum because of their connection to the truth and realness behind the songs.

"They lived it -- just like I did -- and just like all of my collaborators did. It was an honor to re-record two favorites with my fellow female artists who inspire me and who I admire. These new versions are a way of raising a glass to everyone who loves these songs, and to the country radio stations still playing them, and to say thank you. I hope everyone enjoys celebrating 25 years of Did I Shave My Legs For This? as much as I've enjoyed putting together these very special releases."

1997 CMA Single and Song of the Year "Strawberry Wine," written by Matraca Berg and Gary Harrison, was also nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Country Song, the Academy of Country Music Awards Best Country Song,  and the Country Music Radio Awards for Song of the Year. Carter co-wrote the title track "Did I Shave My Legs for This?" with Rhonda Hart.

"Who knew that some girl talk would end up becoming a cultural catchphrase for decades to come? Wow! This song is proof that a genuine, heartfelt message can be delivered with a sense of humor," she added, "yet stand firm in the conviction to not settle for less in this life. Thanks to all the ladies who have sung this anthem at the top of their lungs and to my record label for letting me boldly title my debut album so memorably."

Other chart-toppers from Carter's debut album included "We Danced Anyway" (co-written by Berg and Randy Scruggs), "How Do I Get There"(co-written by Carter and Chris Farren), and "Count Me In" (co-written by Carter and Chuck Jones).

As part of the album's 25th Anniversary celebration, Carter will perform on the Grand Ole Opry Saturday, October 16, as part of the Opry's 4,998th show. To purchase tickets, click HERE

Deana Carter will also celebrate the 25th Anniversary of her 5X Platinum debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This? in her hometown of Nashville on November 18, 2021 at the historic Ryman Auditorium, with special guests Charles Esten and Breland, as well as surprise appearances from other artists. Tickets are available NOW HERE.

“It is such an honor and a career highlight to finally headline The Ryman, our sacred Mother Church, especially being a Nashville native and growing up in the industry, knowing that my dad, Fred Carter, Jr., performed on that stage with so many greats,” Carter says. “And all falling within the 25th anniversary re-release of my very first album Did I Shave My Legs For This? on UMG Nashville. It is a ‘pinch-me’ moment now,” she adds, “and it will be on that super special night with Charles Esten and Breland and some surprise guests too.”

Country newcomer Breland recently covered the first-love love song “Strawberry Wine” as part of Spotify’s 90s Country campaign and will be opening for Carter at the Ryman show. “’Strawberry Wine’ was just one of those songs that transcended time,” Breland said of the ballad.

William Shatner has announced his very first holiday album: Shatner Claus – The Christmas Album’(October 26/Cleopatra Records). Shatner has assembled a truly eclectic roster of vanguards, icons and misfits for a holiday album unlike any that have come before it. The legend of stage, screen and spoken word has taken 13 holiday classics and turned them on their head, joined by the likes of Henry Rollins, Iggy Pop, Brad Paisley, Judy Collins, Billy Gibbons, Rick Wakeman, Todd Rundgren and more. See below for full track list and credits.

Listen to “Jingle Bells” featuring Henry Rollins here:

‘Shatner Claus’ gets into the holiday spirit from the very first notes. A sweeping set of strings introduces “Jingle Bells,” but the song quickly becomes amplified as William and Henry Rollins trade lyrical duties over an increasingly rambunctious beat. Next comes a grooving honky-tonk rendition of “Blue Christmas” with Brad Paisley. As the album unfurls it weaves through jazz, blues, rockabilly, bossa nova and beyond, balancing joyful and sentimental moments with blazing rock n’ roll, and big guitar solos from the likes of Billy Gibbons and Todd Rungdren. Other highlights include a memorable duet with Iggy Pop on “Silent Night,” and a tremendous presentation of keyboards courtesy of Rick Wakeman on “O Come O Come Emanuel.” A bonus track version of an even more revved-up version of “Jingle Bells,” also featuring Henry Rollins, is labeled “Punk Rock Version.”

William Shatner has cultivated a career spanning over 50 years as an award-winning actor, director, producer, writer, recording artist, and horseman. He is one of Hollywood’s most recognizable figures and a major philanthropist. He released his first studio album in 1968. In 2018 alone he has published a book and released an album of country music. ‘Shatner Claus’ is William’s third album for Cleopatra Records, following 2011’s ‘Seeking Major Tom’ and 2013’s Ponder The Mystery.

"Luck and timing are essential in show biz, and it appears that SKYVILLE LIVE has both. There have been many great concerts streamed on the net, but to my knowledge, there has never been a network-quality program featuring major artists that has appeared on the Internet first. Now, at the dawn of the era of 'smart TV,'  SKYVILLE LIVE has come along to change that."

All episodes of SKYVILLE LIVE will feature major national and international stars and up-and-coming artists from every genre of music, performing songs that made them famous, sharing the vocals and sharing personal stories behind the music, and interacting with the live audience around the world. SKYVILLE LIVE will have no musical boundaries, crossing all musical styles from country to hip-hop to pop and all stops in between.  In addition to the musical magic being made in the intimate setting, the show will also allow people from around the world to communicate directly with the artists being featured in each unique streaming event.

SKYVILLE LIVE takes pride in presenting the past, the present and the future of music. It is a place where some of the world's most popular artists can sit in with icons of music, their musical mentors and fulfill a dream.
