SEPTEMBER 8, 2023 – Undoubtedly one of the best debut albums ever, KEANE’s HOPES AND FEARS will be released as a special remastered version on May 10, 2024, exactly 20 years after its initial release. In celebration of this special anniversary edition, the band will play a handful of UK dates including London’s 02 Arena on May 10th, officially kicking off their world tour on April 1stin Mexico City, Keane reaches the U.S. in September, including shows at LA’s Greek Theatre, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium and New York City’s Radio City Music Hall. A landmark album for Keane, Hopes and Fears set all kinds of records upon release on both sides of the Atlantic. As one of the best-selling albums in UK chart history, selling over 2.5 million in the UK in its first year, it sold platinum here in the U.S. (shipping almost 2 million units). To celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Deana Carter's 5X platinum debut album Did I Shave My Legs for This?, Carter announced on The Bobby Bones Show that Capitol Nashville/UMe will release Did I Shave My Legs For This? 25th Anniversary Edition on November 5, but it isn't just Carter doing the singing this time around. The project includes two new tracks with Carter performing and producing 2021 versions of the CMA award-winning, and 2X platinum hit single "Strawberry Wine," featuring  Lauren Alaina, Martina McBride, Ashley McBryde, Kylie Morgan, andVince Gill on guitar, as well as the title track, featuring Terri Clark, Sara Evans, Ashley McBryde, and Vince Gill. 

 

The 25th anniversary editions of the album have been remastered from the original recordings and will be released on CD with two bonus tracks, as well as a Digital Deluxe with an additional ten songs, seven of which will be available digitally for the first time. Pre-order/Pre-save HERE

1997 CMA Single and Song of the Year "Strawberry Wine," written by Matraca Berg and Gary Harrison, was also nominated for a GRAMMY for Best Country Song, the Academy of Country Music Awards Best Country Song,  and the Country Music Radio Awards for Song of the Year. Carter co-wrote the title track "Did I Shave My Legs for This?" with Rhonda Hart.

 

"Who knew that some girl talk would end up becoming a cultural catchphrase for decades to come? Wow! This song is proof that a genuine, heartfelt message can be delivered with a sense of humor," she added, "yet stand firm in the conviction to not settle for less in this life. “It is such an honor and a career highlight to finally headline The Ryman, our sacred Mother Church, especially being a Nashville native and growing up in the industry, knowing that my dad, Fred Carter, Jr., performed on that stage with so many greats,” Carter says. “And all falling within the 25th anniversary re-release of my very first album Did I Shave My Legs For This? on UMG Nashville. It is a ‘pinch-me’ moment now,” she adds, “and it will be on that super special night with Charles Esten and Breland and some surprise guests too.”

Country newcomer Breland recently covered the first-love love song “Strawberry Wine” as part of Spotify’s 90s Country campaign and will be opening for Carter at the Ryman show. “’Strawberry Wine’ was just one of those songs that transcended time,” Breland said of the ballad.

Our band has had the honor of playing there now 8 1/2 times over the past 10 years. The audience is always alive and electric, hanging on every word and phrase. It feels like the greatest, most intimate gig you will ever do but there are 2,300 people sharing this joy and musical journey. The event sold over 17,000 tickets, reaching a global audience and bringing people of all different cultures together during a time when it often felt like the world was falling apart. Considering the number of households watching concerts together from home, one ticket could actually account for an entire family, so the true number of viewers would likely skyrocket.   Joe continues, “We played as good as we could in front of those 1700 cardboard cut outs of your faces and tried to imagine you there. For split seconds I would catch a glimpse of the room and it almost felt normal. Then the song would end and there would be dead silence. Only the footsteps of our crew could be heard. With all of that said, this DVD is a snapshot of a concert performance within the confines a vast sea change of the world. A world that had temporarily deemed us unnecessary. Nobody knows when I will ever get back to this stage in front of a full house again, but I sure do know that I do love it and miss you greatly. Between ticket sales and donations during his After Party Showcase, the event raised $32,000 for Bonamassa’s Fueling Musicians program, presented by his non-profit Keeping the Blues Alive Foundation (KTBA). Supporting artists for over a year amid the pandemic, to date the program has secured $460,000 in funding for qualifying touring musicians who are suffering financial hardship since their careers have been put on hold. The program provides immediate $1,500 cash payments for essential living expenses to help musicians stay afloat until they can get back out on the road. This past weekend Joe hosted his 2nd Annual Stream-A-Thon event, featuring over 35 stunning performances and 3+ hours of music to continue raising money for the cause.
