AXS TV Airs More Episodes of 'Live From Daryl's House,' Including two never-before-seen episodes with Tommy Shaw & TY Taylor

AXS TV has acquired 10 additional episodes of Live From Daryl's House, including two never-before-seen entries featuring STYX's Tommy Shaw (Oct. 1) and Vintage Trouble's Ty Taylor (Oct. 8.)

The series returns to the network on a new day and time, joining AXS TV's Thursday night line-up starting Oct. 1 at 8 p.m. ET, with guests including Joe Walsh, Cheap Trick, Smokey Robinson, Billy Gibbons, Johnny Rzeznik, The O’Jays, Ben Folds & Kandace Springs.

Los Angeles (September 15, 2020) – AXS TV and Good Cop/Bad Cop Productions—the company behind Live From Daryl’s House—continue their strong partnership, bringing 10 additional episodes of the acclaimed music series to the Network’s lineup this fall. In addition to eight fan-favorite episodes, viewers will be able to enjoy two never-before-seen entries when the series returns to AXS TV with a new day and time, airing Thursday, October 1 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

The series kicks off with a pair of star-studded sets broadcast for the first time worldwide, starting with Hall’s jam session with STYX front man Tommy Shaw on October 1, featuring intimate performances of STYX signatures “Blue Collar Man,” “Too Much Time On My Hands,” and “Renegade,” as well as Daryl Hall and John Oates’ hits “Delayed Reaction” and “It’s A Laugh.” Then, on October 8, Hall joins Ty Taylor, lead singer of L.A.-based R&B quartet Vintage Trouble, for a night of music featuring Vintage Trouble originals “Another Man’s Words,” “Nobody Told Me” and “Can’t Stop Rollin’”. They also perform The Spinners’ “I’ll Be Around,” which was covered on the Daryl Hall and John Oates album “Our Kind of Soul.”

Live From Daryl’s House was created in 2007 by Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer Daryl Hall, who wanted a creative refuge from the grind of touring where he and his talented friends could hangout and rock out in a relaxed atmosphere. The Webby Award-winning program quickly took the music world and the internet by storm with its unique format, as Hall welcomed a new artist into his domain each week to enjoy some local cuisine and conversation, before hitting the studio for an unforgettable jam session. Since that time, Live From Daryl’s House has transformed into a nationally syndicated television series, attracting some of the biggest names in the industry and amassing a loyal cult following of fans eagerly anticipating the next new episode.

Daryl Hall continues to hit it out of the park, or, should I say "house," on his outstanding and groundbreaking music series. The episode premiered on Viacom's high-definition music channel Palladia on Thursday, February 27 and will be available on the VH1 App on March 7 before being made available April 15 on Daryl's dedicated LFDH.com website, the first to be filmed at Daryl's still-under-construction new "clubhouse," a combination concert venue and restaurant he is currently restoring as a future home for the show.   One-time schoolteacher Lee and Daryl team up for a seven-song performance that includes an eclectic set list that includes a rare Daryl Hall solo song, the aptly named R&B harmonies of "I'm in a Philly Mood," from his 1993 Soul Alone album, as well as a  pair of Hall and Oates classics, including "When the Morning Comes," the first track on their 1973 Abandoned Luncheonette album, "The Method of Modern Love," a Top 5 hit on 1984's smash Big Bam Boom album. Amos and the band also run through two songs from his self-titled 2004 Blue Note debut, "Keep It Loose, Keep It Tight," a song about rising rents and gentrification in his old Philly neighborhood, and "Seen It All Before," reminiscent of a cross between The Band at its most soulful and "Knockin' On Heaven's Door." There are also takes on "Windows are Rolled Down," from his chart-topping 2011 Mission Bell album and a version of "Caramel," by his longtime bandmate and opening act Mutlu, who sits in on vocals for a song that the two played on the Norah Jones tour.   In the regular cooking segment, Daryl's old pal and namesake from nearby Vinny's Deli demonstrates the many uses of Daryl's House Marinara Sauce by using it to cook a seafood fra diavolo, with shrimp, scungilli, clams and pasta, as well as a pizza.   Lee raved about the experience: "We had a great time doing Live from Daryl's House. Everyone was really cool and we had a lot of fun. I just saw them over the past year at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville and at the Tower in Philadelphia. I'm more of a fan now than I was before. I really respect Daryl as a writer."   Added Daryl: "We had a good time. We got Philadelphia-ized, and pretty funky. Some funk was definitely had."   Amos has toured with legendary artists like Bob Dylan and Paul Simon, collaborated with Norah Jones, Lucinda Williams and Zac Brown Band, and been touted as a favorite songwriter and performer by The Band Perry and Lady Antebellum. NEW YORK, Feb. 19, 2014--Live from Daryl's House never felt more like home, as the show welcomes the now L.A.-based husband-wife team of JOHNNYSWIM for its 65th and latest installment, the third new show of 2014, following Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw and Rock and Roll Hall of Famer, ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons. The latest episode premieres on Viacom's high-definition music channel Palladia on Thursday, February 20, on the VH1 App on February 28 and then will be available on March 15 on Daryl's dedicated LFDH.com website, the final show at Daryl's old home, which has since been sold. Married couple Abner and Amanda-Sudano Ramirez join Daryl and the band for a six-song set that includes a pair of Daryl Hall and John Oates classics, including the Top 10 single, "Adult Education," one of two songs recorded for the 1984 compilation Rock and Soul Part 1, and "Do What You Want, Be What You Are," the song from their 1976 album, Bigger Than Both Of Us, which was also the title of their 2009 Sony Legacy four-CD box set. The first new episode begins the new year with a meeting of two genuine legends and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers, as newly inducted member Daryl Hall joins iconic ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons for the 63rd and latest edition of the critically acclaimed, award-winning, web-to-cable series. 'Live From Daryl's House' set to unleash more episodes

Few shows champion such a wide range of artists on a winning basis as Live From Daryl's House. It's great to see that new episodes of the series will be coming to Palladia. I am hoping rock 'n' soul band Vintage Trouble will be coming to an episode soon.

LIVE FROM DARYL’S HOUSE UNDER CONSTRUCTION, SET TO TAPE NEW EPISODES AS PALLADIA RENEWS DEAL WITH AWARD-WINNING WEB-TO-CABLE SERIES

Daryl Hall’s innovative performance show will continue on Viacom Media Networks’ high-definition music channel with new episodes coming through 2014

NEW YORK, Oct. 8, 2013— Live from Daryl’s House, Daryl Hall’s critically acclaimed, award-winning performance series has renewed its agreement with Viacom Media Networks’ high-definition music channel Palladia, and will immediately commence producing new episodes, adding to the more than 60 already in the archives. Those shows will start debuting in early 2014 and will continue to premiere on www.lfdh.com, where previous installments will be archived.

“I’m thrilled to be able to start producing these new shows for our ever-widening audience, after renewing our relationship with Palladia,” says Daryl. “A day doesn't go by that I don’t hear from fans about how much they love the show, and everyone knows how much I enjoy doing it. Believe me when I tell you, the best is yet to come.” 

The show is a joint venture between Hall’s Good Cop Bad Cop Productions and Palladia.  Executive producers for the show include Hall along with Daryl Hall and John Oates manager, Jonathan Wolfson.  New guests will be announced in the coming weeks.

Hall & Oates display their timeless magic at sold-out Pacific Amphitheatre

I have long been a fan of Hall & Oates, whose blend of rock, soul, pop and folk have influenced several generations of players and pleased countless millions of fans. As long-time readers know, I consider it an embarrassment that the popular and groundbreaking duo is not in the Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame.  More than 40 years after the release of their first album, the Philadelphia-spawned twosome remain a top concert act as evidenced by the full house who caught their show at the Pacific Amphitheatre at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa, California on Aug. 8, 2013.

Daryl Hall and John Oates came to the O.C. armed with a talented six-member backing band (whose players are well known thanks to the popular Live From Daryl's House TV series) and proceeded to perform electrifying versions of their biggest hits as well as some early gems more than worth rediscovery across a fast-paced 80 minutes of music making.

Opening with the number one hit "Out of Touch," the performance cast a light on Hall's shining vocal powers and provided choice moments for Oates to offer up some nice lead work on his electric guitar. The follow-up, a rollicking take on their early '80s cover of Mike Oldfield's "Family Man," allowed Oates to really fire up his fretwork and further generated momentum with the 7,500 or so on hand.

Oates sang lead on the "How Does It Feel to Be Back?" (the power pop-tinged nugget originally on 1980's Voices) and the duo shared vocals on the rock jazz classic "Las Vegas Turnaround" (one of the highlights on 1973's Abandoned Luncheonette) but the rest of the night was focused squarely on the pair's biggest chart toppers.

'Daryl’s Restoration Over-Hall' Will Debut on Scripps Networks Interactive’s DIY Network in 2014, Joining Live from Daryl’s House, which Continues on Palladia, RFD, Family Net and in Syndication

NEW YORK, June 4, 2013 – Daryl Hall is a true renaissance man for all seasons, with his interests in music and home restoration the subjects of two different TV shows on four individual cable networks and national syndication. One could say he’s building that resume from the ground up as the record-setting musician displays his talents as a builder and designer on Daryl’s Restoration Over-Hall, a new show debuting on Scripps Networks Interactive’s DIY Network in 2014. Hall and his manager Jonathan Wolfson are executive producers, and Michael Morrissey is the director.

Daryl’s Restoration Over-Hall joins Live from Daryl’s House, his critically acclaimed, award-winning, web-to-cable series, which can currently be seen on Viacom’s high-def network Palladia, RFD-TV, FamilyNet and in national syndication. Production of Live from Daryl’s House, which has produced 62 episodes to date, resumes in the fall.

DIY Network, HGTV’s sister property, originally contacted Hall upon learning of his interest in vintage architecture. Daryl, who has previously restored a number of antique homes, including the 18th century farmhouse in Dutchess County, N.Y., where his Live from Daryl’s House regularly takes place, will tackle a late Georgian house circa 1780 located on the Fairfield-Litchfield County border of Connecticut, where DIY Network’s cameras will follow his progress on a weekly basis.

“The purpose of my new show is to restore an antique New England house, showing how it can be done in an authentic manner, keeping the original elements and making it consistent with the modern world,” said Hall. “I also want to feature the important community of crafts-people, who are expert in authentic restoration.”

In Daryl’s Restoration Over-Hall, Hall plans to revive the quaint 1-bedroom into a new family home that was originally built by a widowed sea captain. His care in historically accurate restoration must be melded with the mandates of modernity and small town regulations. Hall will bring in a team of craftsmen he has worked with over the years. He also plans on involving the American College of Building Arts in Charleston, S.C., which is the only school in America with an accredited program in this field.

“This is yet another way of putting my creativity and my other passions aside from music out there, so they can all mix together, Hall added, "We have a legacy of unique antique architecture here in America. Unfortunately, in many cases, they have been let go, demolished or altered inconsistently to their original character.”


JOHN FOGERTY'S 'MYSTIC HIGHWAY' VIDEO PREMIERES ON VEVO

Back in May 2007, John Fogerty delivered one of the finest concerts I've ever seen at the Doheny Blues Festival; you can read my review of that show that ran in The Orange County Register here. In fact, as evidenced by his new album Wrote a Song for Everyone, the legendary singer-songwriter-guitarist continues to blaze ahead. I was especially moved by his new music video for the song "Mystic Highway."

Live from Daryl’s House, the hit web-series created by Daryl Hall, will debut on Rural Media Group’s networks, RFD-TV and FamilyNet, on Sunday, March 3, 2013 at 9:30 p.m. EST. The series has been added to RFD-TV and FamilyNet’s Sunday night primetime slot of family-orientated music and entertainment programming. The series joins the network’s other top-rated variety series including, The Marty Stuart Show, Larry’s Country Diner, The Mollie B Polka Party and Joey+Rory.

Live from Daryl’s House on RFD-TV will feature a mix of well-known performers: Chromeo (March 3), KT Tunstall (March 10), Eric Hutchinson (March 17), Nick Lowe (March 24), Travis McCoy (March 31), Finger Eleven (April 7), Todd Rundgren (April 14), Kevin Rudolf (April 21) and The Bacon Brothers (April 28). I always enjoy watching Live From Daryl's House whenever possible. Here is the latest news on the show, definitely in tune with the holiday season.

It's that time of the year, as Daryl Hall conquers his head cold to celebrate the season in a series of Christmas duets with Grammy winner Shelby Lynne on the 61st and latest edition of Live from Daryl's House, the critically acclaimed, award-winning web-to-cable series. For this special holiday episode, Daryl and Shelby join in a "delta blues-meets-Philly soul" throwdown, featuring a half-dozen performances-four songs from their respective Christmas albums, Daryl Hall and John Oates' 2006 release Home for Christmas and the singer-songwriter's 2010 set Merry Christmas, as well as a pair of Lynne originals. The show, now available via over-the-air syndication, will premiere on Viacom's high-definition music channel Palladia Dec. 13, then will be available on www.lfdh.com on Dec. 15. "She's a really interesting singer and songwriter," comments Daryl, who says he's wanted to have Lynne on the show for awhile. "And even though she came up in Nashville, I think she's a great soul singer. She means every word that comes out of her mouth." "I loved hanging out with Daryl and the guys in the band," enthuses Shelby. "Daryl is as amazing a person as he is a singer. I was honored to go to his place and make music. Daryl's Place will stay around a long time because it's all about the integrity of the artist and the music." Lynne first broke through at the age of 18, when her demos landed her an appearance on TNN's Nashville Now series. Her 1999 breakthrough, I Am Shelby Lynne, led to a Grammy for Best New Artist. She followed with critically acclaimed albums Love, Shelby (2001),Identity Crisis (2003) and Suit Yourself (2005). She made her acting debut playing Johnny Cash's mother in the Oscar-winning Fox Searchlight movie, Walk the Line. Just a Little Lovin', her tribute to Dusty Springfield, came out in 2008. In 2010, she founded her own label, EVERSO Records, a move that has given her the freedom to release music on her own timetable. Her EVERSO debut, Tears, Lies, And Alibis, dropped in 2010 and was followed by Merry Christmas (2010) and Revelation Road (2011). In November, she released a deluxe edition of the latter, which also includes her first-ever live album, recorded this past May at McCabe's Guitar Shop in Santa Monica, along with a Live in London DVD and a documentary on the making of the album. The two perform a pair of songs each from their Christmas albums, including the Shelby Lynne originals "Ain't Nothin' Like Christmas" and a bluesy "Xmas," the latter Daryl terming "one of the darkest Christmas songs ever written," with lyrics like "Holiday cocktails make me forget/The gifts that Daddy never opened." The set also includes the original title track to Hall and Oates' Home for Christmas, as well as a spirited cover of that album's Robbie Robertson-penned "Christmas Must Be Tonight." They also tackle Lynne's "Leavin'," a song from her I Am Shelby Lynne album, and "Bend," from Love, Shelby, the latter given a rousing Philly International soul treatment that proves Hall's assessment of the self-described southern girl's ability to sing R&B. To top off the performances, Daryl and Shelby join chefs Eric Gabrynowicz and Stephen Mancini, from local Armonk, NY-based Restaurant North, to cook up a roast goose dinner, including braised red cabbage, squash soup, pears and a watermelon grown in Hall's garden, with Shelby doing the honors stuffing the bird. The conversation was also lively, with Daryl admitting the trappings of the holiday season like "elves and homeless Santas," freak him out, while a discussion of musical authenticity draws this priceless Shelby Lynne observation; "There's no air-conditioning for the blues."
