Media Release: Power Pop Icon Matthew Sweet leads a cast of All-Stars and Legends on a Trip to Revisit The Beatles’ “ABBEY ROAD!”

Power Pop Icon MATTHEW SWEET Leads A Cast Of All-Stars And Legends On A Trip To Revisit THE BEATLES’ “ABBEY ROAD!”

Album features performances by Jellyfish's Roger Joseph Manning Jr., Vulfpeck's Charles Jones, British guitar legend Snowy White, Billy Idol guitarist Steve Stevens, GnR cohort Ron Bumblefoot Thal, Paul Shafer, God Of Hellfire Arthur Brown and lots more!

Los Angeles, CA - It probably comes as no surprise that Athens GA indie rock icon Matthew Sweet has a fondness for The Beatles. From his 1986 debut album to his early ‘90s breakthrough, including the MTV smash hit “Girlfriend,” on through to his most recent albums, Sweet has pulled off the same kind of melodically driven, seemingly straightforward but stealthily complex songs that turned the Liverpudlian foursome into a worldwide phenomena and one of the most influential artists of all-time. Recently, Sweet was invited to participate in a truly remarkable revisitation of The Beatles’ incredible crowning glory, the brilliant Abbey Road, and the results couldn’t be more satisfying.

Sweet sings, plays guitar and even adds a little bass to a brand new version of Abbey Road’s punchiest blast of rock psychedelia, “Polythene Pam.” The fourth segment of the album’s magnificent Side B medley, “Pam” is the perfect showcase for Sweet’s deft interplay of rapid fire vocals and powerfully overdriven guitars. Assisting in the track’s creation is fellow singer/guitarist Jason Berk, who adds texture with his acoustic guitar, and Fernando Perdomo who supports Sweet’s guitar with some tasteful Hammond organ. Perhaps the only thing that can be said against the track is that, with a running time of 1:27, it leaves too soon. But then, that’s what the repeat button is for!

Jack Russell's Great White return to their roots on new studio recordings of Led Zeppelin songs

Check out new of the upcoming Led Zeppelin tribute from Jack Russell's Great White. I am loving the advance track "No Quarter"...Robert Kinsler

Jack Russell's Great White return to their roots on new studio recordings of Led Zeppelin songs!

Los Angeles, CA - The year was 1998 when hard rock icons Great White released Great Zeppelin: A Tribute To Led Zeppelin, an electrifying live album that found GW frontman Jack Russell stepping into the vocal shoes of Zeppelin singer Robert Plant for a phenomenal full-length celebration of that British band’s long lasting influence on Russell & company. The album quickly became a fan favorite and proved beyond the shadow of a doubt that Russell possessed one of the most powerful voices in rock music.

Since that time, over 20 years later, fans have been clamoring for a follow-up and now Jack Russell’s Great White is ready to deliver! Great Zeppelin II: A Tribute To Led Zeppelin is the long-awaited sequel that rocks even harder than its predecessor and includes all-new covers of “Kashmir,” “Houses Of The Holy,” “Misty Mountain Hop” and more! Russell, of course, remains in top form and he’s ably backed by stellar guitarists Robby Lachner & Michael Olivieri along with bassist Dan McNay & drummer Dicki Fliszar. The full album gets officially released on August 13, 2021 but you can hear the advance track "No Quarter" now via the link below.

Stream/download "No Quarter": https://youtu.be/x4iG4uxTeoA

Speaking about the project as a whole, Russell proclaims, “I’m really excited about Great Zep 2. We had such a great time recording it and took the opportunity to choose songs we hadn’t covered on the first one. The band played beautifully and the sound, I believe, is first class. I’m hopeful everyone will enjoy listening to it as much as we did playing it.”

Great Zeppelin II: A Tribute To Led Zeppelin will be available on both CD in a deluxe digipak and on colored vinyl in a gorgeous gatefold jacket!

Ambition displayed on new collections

A trio of releases all exploring the sounds of groundbreaking favorites are now available.

Artist: Mike Peters
Title: STREAM {Hurricane of Change} (LABEL HERE)
You might like if you enjoy: The Alarm, U2, The Waterboys
Tell me more: Poetic and poignant, STREAM  {Hurricane of Change} is an ambitious two-disc work from Alarm singer-songwriter Mike Peters. The 39-track collection is a mix of spoken word chapters and full-length songs, all chronicling the turbulent times and events of the late '80s that helped fuel the creation of that band's classic Eye of the Hurricane (1987), Electric Folklore (1988) and Change (1989) albums. The performances featured on STREAM are forceful to be sure, spanning from Celtic-tinged moments (notably on "A New South Wales" and "Irish Sea") and blues ("Shelter") to folk ("Rose Beyond The Wall," "World On Fire") and driving rockers ("Hallowed Ground," "Only Love Can Set Me Free"). Some of the Alarm's most beloved tracks are included and reworked as part of this concept work, with "Rescue Me" delivered as an introspective foray where Peters' voice is positioned amidst gospel vocals, piano and acoustic guitar. "Rain In The Summertime" is similarly re-imagined in a more folk rock-styled sonic setting. Peters' signature vocals sound as great as they did 30 years ago and his sense of purpose shines across the inspired autobiographical-minded set. Information: alarm.com.

Artist: Jack Russell's Great White
Title: Once Bitten Acoustic Bytes (Deadline Music)
You might like if you enjoy: Great White, Led Zeppelin, Greta Van Fleet
Tell me more: Singer-songwriter Jack Russell revisits many of Great White's most beloved hits on the aptly-dubbed Once Bitten Acoustic Bytes, with his top-tier vocals taking center stage on the 10-track collection that pays tribute to Great White's 1987 classic LP. Armed with his powerful voice, Russell guides his band through acoustic-flavored material that simultaneously maintains a propulsive and bona fide rocking spirit. "Gonna Getcha" is bolstered by some fiery lead guitar work on an acoustic guitar, while "Rock Me" has a more playful bluesy vibe than the original recording of the favorite. My favorites on the album are the tender "Save All Your Love" and a first-rate mostly-faithful cover of the classic Led Zeppelin classic "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You." Joining Russell on this LP are the talents of guitarist Robby Lochner (who also produced the album), guitarist Tony Montana, bassist Dan McNay and drummer Dicki Fliszer. Once Bitten Acoustic Bytes is available via digital, on audio CD and via a limited-edition blue vinyl LP. Information: CleopatraRecords.com.

Artist: New Riders of the Purple Sage
Title: Field Trip (Omnivore Recordings)
You might like if you enjoy: Gram Parsons, the Grateful Dead, the Flying Burrito Brothers
Tell me more: The live recording of New Riders of the Purple Sage featured on Field Trip is a joyful trip into the past. Recorded on Aug. 27, 1972 on the site that now hosts the Oregon Country Fair, this was a wonderfully loose performance of a country-rock band sharing the bill with the Grateful Dead and giving its all. The 17-track performance provides a chance for the band to deliver uptempo countrified nuggets ("Truck Drivin' Man," "Hello Mary Lou"), tender ballads ("Linda," "Lochinvar"), blues-tinged rockers ("Groupie") and mid tempo gems ("Rainbow," "Whiskey"). The 2-LP title was produced by band historian Rob Bleetstein and contains liner notes penned by Ken Babbs last November. Information: OmnivoreRecordings.com.

Jack Russell's Great White releases unplugged version of the "Once Bitten" album plus an all-acoustic version of “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You!”

For those who haven't checked in with Jack Russell's Great White for awhile, now is a good time to revisit the talents of one the great hard rock/blues-rock vocalists to emerge in the '80s. And unlike many of that era's singers, Russell's amazing voice is still fully intact. The band is set to release an exciting new LP next month...Robert Kinsler

Jack Russell's Great White releases Unplugged Version of the Once Bitten Album PLUS an all-acoustic version of “Babe, I’m Gonna Leave You!”

Los Angeles, CA - Vocalist and co-founder of legendary ‘80s hard rock group Great White, Jack Russell, is proud to announce the release of a very special acoustic album revisiting the band’s 1987 multi-platinum masterpiece Once Bitten featuring some of their biggest and most recognizable hits including “Save Your Love” and “Rock Me!” Aided by the likes of guitarist Robby Lochner (who also produced and mixed the album), longtime Great White bassist Tony Montana (now on guitar), bassist Dan McNay and drummer Dicki Fliszer, these songs have been stripped to their emotional core, spotlighting the intensely passionate story at the heart of each song. Just check out the new version of the unforgettable ballad “Save Your Love,” which has been shorn of all rockstar pomp to reveal a heartfelt hymn yearning, love and loss.

Or just watch the new video, directed by Vicente Cordero of Industrialism Films (Queensrÿche, Tom Keifer), which communicates the song’s message powerfully:
https://youtu.be/c9aNaQMcyTA

Jack Russell explains “Once Bitten is one of my favorite albums that we did. I always wondered what it would sound like done acoustically. The experience recording this unplugged version was really neat. It brought back a lot of memories of the original recording session, things I had forgotten about. Interestingly, the songs that I thought wouldn’t translate acoustically like ‘Livin’ On The Edge’ and ‘Never Change Heart,’ the heavier songs, came out the best. Now, I’m looking forward to doing it again for …Twice Shy!”

Once Bitten Acoustic Bytes will be available everywhere starting May 1 on digital as well as CD and a limited edition BLUE vinyl LP from Deadline Music, a division of Cleopatra Records, Inc.

HOLLYWOOD, CA (February 24, 2013) – These artists are coming together to support a long time friend and publicist Nancy Sayle, who was struck with Primary Progressive MS in 2009. This is a severe version of the disease and only 10% are inflicted with this level. She was also diagnosed with a pituitary brain tumor 2012. Visiting her close and dear friend as well as client, Steve Stevens and his wife Josie Stevens, she informed them of this news and all the medical issues. Knowing that she would not be working as much and facing large amounts of medical bills, Stevens suggested that a benefit was in order to help her. This is an amazing self-less gathering with a lot of love as well as creating the much needed awareness.

About Multiple Sclerosis
  • Every hour in the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS, an unpredictable, often disabling disease of the central nervous system.
  • MS interrupts the flow of information from the brain to the body and stops people from moving.
  • Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis.  The advancement, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.
  • Most people with MS are diagnosed between the ages of 20 and 50, with more than twice as many women as men being diagnosed with the disease.
MS affects more than 400,000 people in the U.S. and 2.1 million worldwide.
