THE WHO

TOMMY – LIVE AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL

~DVD, BLU-RAY, 2CD, 3LP, AND DIGITAL~
~OCTOBER 13, 2017~
~VIEW TRAILER HERE~

New York, NY (August 17, 2017)—On October 13, 2017, Eagle Rock Entertainment will release Tommy – Live At The Royal Albert Hall by The Who on DVD, Blu-ray, 2CD and 3LP [MSRP $15.98 DVD, $21.98 Blu-ray, $19.98 2CD, $39.98 3LP]. This unbelievable concert film captures the first-ever live performance by The Who of Tommy in its entirety and boasts over two hours and twenty minutes of content. The show includes all-time classics like “Pinball Wizard”, “I’m Free”, “Amazing Journey”, “We’re Not Gonna Take It”, “I Can’t Explain”, “Who Are You”, “Won’t Get Fooled Again”, “I Can See For Miles”, and many more!
In April 2017, The Who took to the stage at London’s Royal Albert Hall to perform their rock opera Tommy live in its entirety for the first time in their long and illustrious career. Previous Who live shows had always dropped two, three or four tracks from the album, but for this show, in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust, the band would perform every track. With specially created animations on a huge screen above the stage and creative use of lighting, the concert told the story of the “deaf, dumb and blind kid who sure played a mean pinball.” In addition, at the end of Tommy, the sell-out crowd was treated to a short set of Who classics. Always a great live band, this performance was a thrilling ride from start to finish.
As well as the incredible full show, Tommy – Live At The Royal Albert Hall includes some great bonus features: a behind-the-scenes featurette, plus full screen animations of both “The Acid Queen” and “Pinball Wizard” with the live performance audio.
This concert film captures some of their greatest work, breathtakingly staged and fully live in full for the first time ever, at an iconic venue. Tommy – Live At The Royal Albert Hall is absolutely unmissable for any fans of The Who.

EAGLE ROCK ENTERTAINMENT PROUDLY PRESENTS

THE WHO
SENSATION – THE STORY OF TOMMY

~AN EPITAPH OF ROCK HISTORY EXPLORED~

~ON DVD, BLU-RAY AND DIGITAL FORMATS MARCH 11, 2014~

Eagle Rock Entertainment is about to explore one of rock music’s shining masterpieces: The Who’s TommySensation – The Story Of Tommy will be released on DVD, Blu-ray, and digital formats on March 11, 2014.

Fully supported and endorsed by The WhoSensation – The Story Of Tommy explores the background, creation, and impact of this seminal album. Through brand new interviews, the film unveils the history and cultural impact of Tommy through new interviews with Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey, archive interviews with the late John Entwistle, contributions from engineer Bob Pridden, artwork creator Mike McInnerney, plus others involved in the making of the album, as well as journalists who assess the album’s historic and cultural impact.   Originally aired on BBC TV in August 2013, this version includes additional material not featured in the TV broadcast, as well as a bonus 33-minute feature from the 1969 German TV show “Beat Club.” This feature, which includes previously unreleased footage, includes tracks from the album and interviews with band members.

Released in 1969, Tommy was a milestone in rock history, and marked a new chapter in the band’s career. Selling more than 20 million copies worldwide, the double-album established Pete Townshend’s prowess as not only a musician, but a composer, and further solidified Roger Daltrey as one of rock’s foremost frontmen. A concept album exploring the story of a blind pinball ace, Tommy proved that rock music was a viable vehicle for storytelling, and was the first album to be overtly billed as a rock opera. It was later re-imagined as a film by Ken Russell in the mid-seventies, and a touring stage production in the early nineties.

The direct-to-consumer store for Sensation – The Making Of Tommy is now live at http://www.myplaydirect.com/the-who, which includes exclusive bundles with the DVD or Blu-ray, T-shirt, and a 18X24 poster. Fans have until February 20 at 12 p.m. EST to pre-order one of several bundles, and have his or her name included on the poster.

“Tommy” by The Who Limited Edition Super Deluxe Box Set and Deluxe Edition set for November 12, 2013 release

Can't wait for this release! Sound fantastic.

“Tommy” by The Who Limited Edition Super Deluxe Box Set and Deluxe Edition

20 Unreleased Demos, a Full Unreleased Live Version of Tommy and Hi-Fidelity 5.1 Mix
Released November 12, 2013

Tommy, The Who’s defining, breakthrough concept album – a full-blown rock opera about a deaf, dumb and blind boy that launched the band to international superstardom – is to be released in Deluxe and limited edition Super Deluxe editions November 12.
Originally released in May 1969, The Who were at a career crossroads. They were known mainly as a singles band but this project launched them as a serious “album band” and has now sold over 20 million copies as well as regularly turning up in lists of the most influential albums of all time.
Coming after The Who Sell Out in 1967, Tommy marked a complete change in style with Pete Townshend's lengthy conceptual narrative bringing exciting new opportunities to rock music.Tommy was and remains an ambitious, complex and controversial work.
This new Deluxe and Super Deluxe remastered version of the album comes with a wealth of previously unheard material in the form of 20 demos from Pete Townshend’s archive and also a full, live performance of “Tommy” from 1969 taken from tapes that infamously Townshend asked the band’s sound engineer to burn!
Eighteen of the previously unheard and thought to be long lost live tracks are taken from a live show at the Capital Theatre in Ottowa, Canada, on October 15, 1969. Three others, “I’m Free,” “Tommy’s Holiday Camp” and “We’re Not Gonna Take It” were lost due to tape reels being changed during the show, so they are taken from later shows of the same era. As discussed at length in Pete Townshend’s autobiography, the tapes were all supposed to be destroyed but were kept by longtime Who sound man Bob Pridden, despite Pete’s instructions.
The limited edition Super Deluxe box features a 5.1 mix featuring the complete album remixed in surround sound on new Hi-Fidelity Pure Audio Blu-ray format. The box set also comes with a hardback 80-page full-color book featuring rare period photos, memorabilia, a 20,000-word essay by legendary Who aficionado Richard Barnes and a rare facsimile “Tommy” poster, all housed in a hardback deluxe slipcase.
