Everybody has different reasons to get excited about attending Coachellafest every year, and the 2016 weekend promises a number of exciting performances across the musical spectrum. The reunion of the original Guns N' Roses lineup is particularly exciting, but I am happy to see that Gary Clark Jr. and Of Monsters and Men are returning to the event and so is acclaimed singer-songwriter Courtney Barnett. Cold War Kids, Bats for Lashes and Mavis Staples (I was only able to catch part of her 2011 Doheny Blues Fest set) are among the other great artists I've seen previously that I would love to catch in the magical setting provided by the Empire Polo Club in Indio this spring.
