Weekend roundup: The Everly Brothers, Leland Sundries, The NAMM Show

Here is a quick roundup of some interesting music posts worth checking out.

The Everly Brothers in 1970.
The music world is still reflecting on the loss of Phil Everly this past Friday, Jan. 3. Billboard has an interesting story on how British guitarist Albert Lee helped the Everly Brothers mend fences leading up to their 1983 reunion concert. Click here to read the story. The magazine also has a nice story focusing on Don Everly and his thoughts on losing his younger brother; you can click here to read that article.

The Leland Sundries have released their first-ever live album. The Brooklyn-based indie folk-rockabilly band's Live at the Creamery is available via L'Echiquier Records. Visit the band's Web site here for more details.

Going to NAMM this year? There is already a wealth of information on the NAMM Show Web site, including details about a number of free concert events happening, Jan. 22-26 in and around the Anaheim Convention Center. I'm especially excited to see Otis Taylor on the Lobby Stage inside the Anaheim Marriott at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 24, and there are more appearances set to be announced soon.
