Sights and Sounds: Glen Campbell, Hall & Oates at Outside Lands, Bell X1, Music Worth Buying episodes

With the weekend almost here, there is plenty of news to share on a Friday...

Glen Campbell's new album See You There is set to land courtesy of Surfdog on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Although I have not yet heard the disc, it sound's exciting and I'm hoping to get it and post a review soon. The album features the legendary singer-guitarist offering up reworked versions of many of his best-known classics (including "Wichita Lineman," "Gentle on my Mind" and "Galveston") and new material recorded during the sessions for his 2011's Ghost on the Canvas. You can get more information on the album via George A. Paul's Music Minded blog here. You can read a four stars review of the album in MOJO here.

You can read my review of Glen Campbell's concert in Anaheim in October 2010 on The Orange County Register site via the link here.

Hall & Oates were simply terrific in concert last night (I'll post a review this weekend). The good news is that the legendary duo's performance at the Outside Lands fest in San Francisco this weekend is scheduled to be streamed and available online along with other artists on the bill. Check out the post on USA Today's Pop Candy blog for all the details.

A week after my own return from the Emerald Isle, Irish outfit Bell X1 has announced tour dates across the island (including a date in Belfast, in the U.K.) in support of its fantastic new album Chop Chop. The good news is that Bell X1 will also be coming to North America in October. For more information on all of the group's upcoming dates, visit the band's official Web site here.

My Music Worth Buying co-host TJR has posted a couple of solo reviews on our YouTube channel I recommend, including his review of the new Civil Wars disc. Now that I'm back from Ireland and have caught up on my sleep, we are gearing up to shoot some more episodes this weekend. Check out the videos below...
