Deep Sea Diver releases special Christmas song - Free Download

One of the best new original holiday tracks I've heard this year is available as a free download. How cool is that? Here is the release on Deep Sea Diver's "It's Christmas Time (and I'm still alive)" The song is written about an ill boy who is celebrating his last days around a Christmas tree and seems to have a better handle on what matters more than many of us older folks...

Seattle-based Deep Sea Diver has released a special free holiday single “It’s Christmas Time (and I’m Still Alive)” which is available today and can be streamed or dowloaded here. The Charlie Brown’s Christmas inspired track was written by front woman Jessica Dobson and recorded and mixed with Luke Vander Pol, who also mixed Deep Sea Diver’s self-released debut full length History Speaks.

 “’It’s Christmas Time (and I’m Still Alive)” is a somber but hopeful song about a young boy who is ill but is celebrating the last days of his life around Christmas time,” describes Jessica Dobson. “Throughout the song, the young boy learns what that holiday actually means to him.” Download here.

While Dobson has been busy on the road touring as the guitarist of The Shins for most of 2012, Deep Sea Diver managed to fit in couple of short US tours in support of History Speaks. Last summer the band opened for The Shins during their mid-west dates and was met with standing ovations and recently finished a nearly sold-out co-headlining west coast run with Wild Belle.
